Projects

The Institute will undertake projects, including in collaboration with governments and others, when we see opportunities to benefit Indigenous communities, businesses and groups. This includes nationally relevant, technical, and large-scale coordination activities that will help Fisheries and Oceans Canada implement recommendations that came out of Indigenous Program Review.

Our current projects are:

• Indigenous Training and Skills Development Partnership
• Compendium of Innovative Socio-economic Partnerships
• DFO–CCG Procurement Policy Dialogue
• Co-delivery of the Northern Integrated Commercial Fisheries Initiative

Over the last year, we’ve also completed the following projects:

• Large-scale, Multi-Nation BC Salmon Restoration and Innovation projects
• Assessment of the technical capacity of Indigenous groups and communities to be involved in marine spatial planning
